Intro

"The Workflow Systems and Technology (WST) research group primarily focuses on process mining, which is the analysis of organizational processes based on data generated during their execution. In this context, the areas of interest of WST members include (but are not limited to):

  • Semantics-aware process mining
  • Business process simulation
  • Studying process change and dynamics
  • Predictive process monitoring
  • Visualization of process analysis insights,
  • Responsible process mining

The analysis techniques we develop are versatile and can be applied to a wide variety of domains, including processes found in commercial enterprises, such as the production of goods or the handling of customer orders, public administration, such as permit-request management, and healthcare settings, where the focus is on the analysis of treatment processes."

Prof. Maria Leitner joined KPMG Round Table on Cyber Security

The round table centered on how industry can learn from science to meet current cyber security challenges.

 

For the sixth time, KPMG published the study "Cyber Security in Austria". The study summarizes the most important results of a survey in which around 500 Austrian companies participated. The motto of the 2021 study is "The changing world". 

Prof. Leitner joined the round table discussion on science and research as part of the KPMG Cyber Security Study 2021. Among other things, Prof. Leitner talks about the teaching of digital skills, the importance of exchange between organizations in the event of security incidents and how science can contribute to cybersecurity.
